Our hyaluronic acid fillers, known by brand names like Restylane and Juvederm, act directly on the skin by filling in space and plumping the wrinkle or area of volume loss, like the jawline or cheeks, or providing an effective and pleasing plump to the lips.

While effective at plumping and filling in lost volume, hyaluronic acid fillers are not permanent and your body will slowly break down and absorb the fillers’ components over time. Most often, you’ll see an improvement and anti-aging results lasting for approximately 6-12 months at a time between maintenance injections. With the wide variety in abilities, the dermal filler will be chosen specifically based upon the location treated, your skincare goals, the type of filler, and the injection technique.

Injections utilized to soften the groove just beneath the eyes can last effectively for 12+ months whereas injections into the lips can diminish in appearance in less than 6 months. Having additional maintenance treatments before the product has fully dissolved may enhance the effect and require a much smaller amount to maintain your optimal results.

A full stock of Restylane-based products includes Restylane-L, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Refyne, and Restylane Kysse. JUVÉDERM® is another hyaluronic acid-based filler that is a fan favorite and frequently used at Balanced Body Healthcare! Juvederm Voluma is a popular product in the hollows of the cheeks for the magnificent projection and volume to display optimal results and significant antiaging effects much better than other dermal fillers.

In addition to our hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra® works to provide anti-aging and injectable results subtly and gradually over time for a healthier, and more youthful-looking appearance with improved skin quality and collagen. Unlike the previously mentioned hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Sculptra works to stimulate your body’s own natural collagen and produce and boost your own store of collagen to help restore its inner, and organic volume levels.

You’ll see a younger and more refined structure and increased facial volume that is a common complaint with age. Sculptra is intended for use in clients with a healthy immune system as a one-time treatment regimen, with no more than 4 injections and 4-6 weeks between injections.
Sculptra is an injectable liquid comprised of a synthetic lactic acid called Poly-L-Lactic Acid. Poly-L-lactic acid is commonly produced organically as a natural response following exercise and overloading progression on your muscles, like when you’re lifting weights.

Sculptra works as a bio-activator and effective collagen stimulator, to help kick start and mass produce your body’s own processes and natural substances to perform anti-aging results making this treatment much less invasive and less likely to have adverse events. It stimulates your own collagen, allowing the tissue to fill and plump gradually with components made by, and recognized by your own body. Over time, the Poly-L-Lactic Acid dissolves and the newly produced collagen takes its place. Since the product triggers your body to build its own collagen, results are not immediate and improvements are seen from 4-6 months post-injection.

Sculptra is not for patients who need instant gratification as it takes time for quality collagen and volumizing to occur. But the results are absolutely worth the wait. Patients will continue seeing changes over several weeks to months with maximal results typically seen after 9 months. Sculptra has excellent result retention, and will typically last 2-3 years once the series of, no more than four, treatments are completed. So while it is a bit more costly than hyaluronic acid-based fillers, it is well worth the time and cost for results they can enjoy for years following.
